STUDENT MINISTRY
Guiding Teens Through Faith & Life
Middle school and high school are the most transformative years in a person’s life. We believe that it is crucial to speak into our students’ lives using God’s Word and one-on-one discipleship to show that following Jesus is hard, but it is worth it! Reach out to John Mlagan, our Student Pastor, if you have any questions.
Philosophy of Ministry
We desire to be a ministry that is fun-filled, parent-partnered, and discipleship-driven
Fun-filled
We want to create a fun and safe environment for students to feel welcomed and come confidently knowing they will hear the truths of God’s Word. Worshiping God is the main diet of Ablaze youth group, but we still like to have a blast!
Parent-partnered
We believe that parents are the main discipler of their children, not the church. We want to strategically provide resources and opportunities for parents to partner with the Student Leaders to lead their kids to Christ.
Discipleship-driven
We desire to see all our students discipled in the way of Christ, whether that is one-on-one or in a small group setting.
Youth Group
6th-12th graders. We meet on Sunday nights from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the ABLAZE Barn – just North of BCS High School building; look for our logo! It includes strong Bible teaching, small groups, delicious snacks, fun games, and a good time hanging out with friends. We have various other events throughout the year to give our students plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Sunday School
- Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 am.
- Middle school meets in the Cascades Room (209).
- High school meets in the Redwood Room (200).
- These classes walk students through the Bible and show them how all Scripture points to Jesus. All of our Sunday school classes, 2 years old to adults, teach a unified curriculum so every member of the family is learning about the same passage, in an age-appropriate way.
Called Out Conference
Called Out aims to glorify God by boldly confronting students with the most glorious truth in the world: that Jesus heroically rescued them from eternal suffering and has called them to live radical lives that bring His truth to the world. For more information click here.

Student Safety
Parkside Bible Church has established policies and procedures to assure a safe and secure environment for each of the students to whom we minister. Maintaining this high level of safety and security requires the cooperation of parents, staff, and volunteers. All of our youth workers have undergone criminal background checks and regularly receive training about our child and youth protection policy. Feel free to contact Pastor John Mlagan with any questions you may have about this area of utmost importance.
